Monthly shoots at the Manhattan range are very informal. These shoots are designed to bring club members together to have a good time in a friendly environment while still enforcing all range rules at the firing line. This gives club members and guests a chance to hone their shooting skills and discuss ideas and concerns about the shooting sports in general. This monthly gathering helps members stay in touch with each other as well as keep them involved with the club and with the sport they love.
At the monthly shoot you will find a variety of events to test your shooting skills as well as your sense of humor. A typical shoot would include rifle paper targets at 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards. There is also a steel gong range with targets at varying distances out to 100 yards and occasionally we will have an animal walk and / or a primitive novelty shoot. We will also alternate between several pistol targets or some knife & hawk practice.
Time and Place-
Monthly shoots are held at 9:00 a.m. on the second Sunday of each month. They are typically held at the Manhattan range however we seem to be holding a few more at Corndodger Station. The date or location may occasionally be modified to work around hunting seasons, other area club shoots or a needed work day. Please check the newsletter to verify shoot dates and locations.
